When you have a baby, there are so many key moments you want to celebrate and commemorate. Seeking out special keepsakes can be a hard task, you want them to have personal meaning and great design. Now with the launch of a new website, cutezie-poo.com, your endless searching for that perfect funky Birth, Christening/Naming day, Birthday or Christmas gift could well be over!
Cutezie-poo's website provides a great range of items, all personalised to suit any occasion, and what makes them really special, is that if your chosen design features a cutezie-poo character, they can be made to resemble the child the gift is for or from - how cool is that!
Cutezie-poo designs was born from creator Zara Russell's passion for creating funky simplistic illustrations on the computer. That, and her new found interest in all things baby, after the birth of her first daughter in May 2005.
"The arrival of a baby makes you so aware of all the achievements and milestones in their little lives and I wanted to celebrate and have keepsakes as memories of these special events, but I couldn't find anything that I really liked" explains Zara, "so I thought, I'm artistic, why not create my own designs, exactly the way I want, to say what I want!"
And that was the birth of the cutezie-poo range! "My daughter was about 9 months old when I started to think about the designs, and at the time she only had her two front teeth at the bottom, which is why my logo is a smiling baby with just two teeth!"
As her daughter grew, the designs grew with her, Zara would design items for her Birthdays and Christmas, all adding creations to the collection. And when she was expecting her second baby, Zara really enjoyed creating big sister gifts to make her eldest daughter feel special.
"I loved creating gifts for Gracie when I was expecting my second daughter Faith. Its such a big moment in your life to have a baby, and it can be easy to forget that it will also have a huge impact on your first child who has had you all to themselves!" recalls Zara, "Gracie had a bundle of gifts to celebrate being a big sister so she didn't feel left out, they included a keepsake decoration, 'big sister sits here' placemat, t-shirt and car sunscreens to promote her new family status!"
Zara is very proud to finally get her designs to a stage that is presentable to everyone. "It has been along time coming! People have been telling me for ages that there would be a market for the items I was creating for my girls and that I should do a site to sell it all! I work from home as a designer for a Promotions company, as well as doing all the busy mummy and housewifey stuff, so fitting in design time for cutezie-poo has meant alot of late nights - especially as my girls are not the best of sleepers! But I hope all the hard work is worth it and people like my style and range of items I can offer".
Zara has promised more items will be added as she comes up with new designs and explores new gifts. "All the items I have on my site are there because I have created something for my girls, if people want to suggest items or themes they'd like to see I'm more than happy to do all that I can to make it a reality".
